It’s the most wonderful time of the year and the Washington, DC region is the place to be for the holidays! Decorations abound throughout the city — from storefront window displays in Georgetown to the glittering Christmas trees near the White House. But the most stunning sights the area has to offer are the beautiful light displays that are set up in parks throughout the Capital region!

Most light displays are set up along winding roads for groups to drive through the wondrous winter displays. But why should the driver have to miss out on the fun? Hire a Washington DC Limousine and make sure everyone enjoys the glittering lights!

Make a night out of a trip to Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg, MD for Winter Lights. Warm up with some eggnog then have a DC limousine pick you at home. As you near the park, you’ll see lights along the local roads that serve as a trail to lead you to the display at the park. In the comfort of a DC limousine, you’ll be more relaxed and better able to enjoy the feel of an enchanted forest as you’re driven through the lights.

Another fun display to enjoy with the family is the Festival of Lights at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, MD. Children and adults will be pleasantly surprised by the various displays they pass. In a DC limo everyone will be comfortable. No more trying to get Grandma up into a minivan, while mom and the kids try to squeeze in the back. And in a DC limo there will be room to spread out, so bickering children can sit away from each other, allowing everyone to enjoy the ride.

If you’re drawn to the water, enjoy a ride out to Lights on the Bay at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, MD. The drive takes you along the Chesapeake Bay, where you can admire over 60 light displays, made more luminous with the Chesapeake Bay serving as a backdrop. Pop open a bottle of champagne in a DC Limousine and de-stress from the holidays. If someone else is handling the stress of driving, you’ll have no option but to enjoy yourself.

Another great display is the Bull Run Festival of Lights in Centreville, VA. After enjoying the scenic lights, have fun with the family at the carnival set up in the park! You’ll feel like you’re truly in a winter wonderland with all of the festive activities and holiday decorations around! And when you’re ready to go home after all of the activities, it’ll be nice to just climb into a DC Limo and let them navigate the traffic. All you have to worry about is deciding whether you had more fun on the tilt-a-whirl or the merry-go-round!

Many displays are open on Christmas day. So what better way to conclude a day of family fun, than being picked up in a Washington DC Limousine for a relaxing ride among beautiful sights? Children and adults alike will enjoy experiencing the light displays while riding in a DC Limo. Children will marvel at the beautiful displays. Adults will have a much deserved chance to sit back and relax in a plush seat, surrounded by all of the comforting amenities DC Limousine offers their customers.

Enjoy the season! Happy holidays from AJ Limousine Company!

Tour the District’s Magnificent Buildings in a Day

Washington D.C. is considered the “seat of power” for our country. And while most of the “power spots” — including the White House and Capitol — are grouped together around the National Mall, there are other sites around the city that just can’t be missed! Whether you are just visiting D.C. or you are a resident wanting to get to know the city you live in — a fun and stress-free way to see all that the district has to offer would be to hire a D.C. Limousine to take you from the mall to other sites around town.

A must see is the National Cathedral. Its highest point reaches 676 feet and it can be seen from many points of the city. Its design is influenced by Gothic architectural styles of the middle ages and the many gargoyle designs on the cathedral provide interesting objects to look at. High on the northwest tower, you can even spot a sculpture of Darth Vader! There are also over 200 stained-glass windows – including one called “the Space Window” which is a tribute to man’s landing on the moon!

After touring the Cathedral, have a DC limo / DC limousine, service drive you past the Vice President’s house on Massachusetts Avenue. If you’re lucky, you might get to wave to Mr. Biden as he’s heading out in his motorcade — he might just turn and notice if you’re in a D.C. limo — and that would certainly be grounds to say you’ve met the Vice President!

Another can’t miss attraction in Washington D.C. is the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. It’s the largest Roman Catholic Church in North America! Its design is Romanesque-Byzantine. The Romanesque influence is meant to mesh with the district’s other monuments built in that style. The Byzantine art in the basilica wows tourists with the beautiful use of marble and mosaic. Compare the architecture from the basilica to that of the cathedral and you’ll become an architecture buff in a day!

On your way back from the basilica, swing by Union Station. Make sure to turn around right before you walk in the door — the arches outside the station frame a beautiful picture. Flags line the traffic circle and the green space and senate buildings lavishly lay in front of this hub of transportation. Once you’re inside enjoy a cup of coffee at one of the many cafes, or go shopping in one of many boutiques. You’ll be charmed by the station’s marble floors and high arch ceilings, which in some places are 96 feet high!

After a day of touring around, a nice way to wind down is to enjoy a play at one of D.C.’s many theaters. Arrive in a stylish D.C. limousine and avoid the hassle of parking downtown at the National Theatre where you can catch a showing of the acclaimed musical Jersey Boys (starting in October). While visiting, it’s exciting to keep in mind that the theater has entertained every president since Andrew Jackson!

You could also catch a show at the Kennedy Center, which is home to the National Symphony Orchestra. The center hosts musical and theatrical performances. Symbolic of its service as a leader in performing arts in the nation, is a hall of states which holds flags of all U.S. states and territories. Make sure you get there a little before your show so that you can look around the building. The center has a sprawling terrace which overlooks the Potomac, offering a gorgeous view at sunset. The Kennedy Center is also located right next to the infamous Watergate apartments. Make sure to tell your D.C. limo driver that you want to drive by so you can see the walls of a building that holds so many secrets!

Touring a sprawling city like D.C. on foot in a day would be nearly impossible. But with a DC limo / DC limousine service it’s comfortable and easy. Many of the spots mentioned aren’t easily accessible via public transportation. Hire a driver from AJ Limousine to take you around town and forget messing with maps, and getting lost. All AJ Limousine drivers are familiar with D.C.’s streets and can take you around town, allowing you to focus on exploring, and enjoying, all that this great city has to offer. Summertime is a Prime Time to Take Advantage of the Embassies in D.C.

Summertime is in full swing, and as the district’s humid days turn into balmy nights, it’s tempting to spend August days inside the comfort of your air-conditioned living room watching re-runs of The Office. But August is the perfect time of year to get out and enjoy the international experience D.C. has to offer! Washington D.C. is home to 174 resident embassies, and a majority of them open their doors on a regular basis to Washingtonian’s for a multitude of events.

Embassies in DC have a lot to offer — ranging from fancy parties where you can dress up and hire a D.C. limo to take you to an event in style — to cultural days where you can simply learn about another country’s culture and traditions.

If you’d like a sampling of the embassies, consider taking an Embassy Row Walking Tour on August 6. Perhaps you’ve always wanted to learn Russian. In fact, the Russian Culture Centre offers free lessons starting August 31! Or, if you’ve ever wondered how other countries celebrate their Independence Day; on August 15 the Indian Embassy welcomes friends of India to attend a flag hoisting ceremony on India’s Independence Day.

If you’re interested in a night out, consider going to The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain on August 28. Start the night right by arriving in a D.C. Limo, and then enjoy entertainment by a top Bahraini musical artist. After the concert, you’ll be treated to an authentic Bahraini dinner prepared by the embassy chef!

If you prefer to be on your feet, you can dance the night away in the ballroom of the French Embassy on August 14. The embassy offers dance lessons for the Viennese Waltz, Tango, and Merengue — and after perfecting the box step — guests can enjoy a dance party and drink French wine!

Most embassies are downtown and it can be tough to find parking. And many bus routes still leave you a long distance from an embassy’s front door. So what better way to arrive to these events than to be chauffeured! Most diplomats ride in town cars or in limousines from D.C. airports to events around town. If you’re going for the full international experience, you should certainly consider hiring a service to meet your transportation needs!

Cabs can be hard to find at night in the quieter neighborhoods of D.C. where many embassies are located, and calling a cab service can be a gamble. You never know if the cab you end up with will smell like smoke, or if the driver knows where they are going and can communicate well. Why worry about these things on a nice night out? Take the guess work and frustration out of transportation and hire AJ Limousine – a company where drivers are known to be professional and courteous — and are well acquainted with the D.C. region. With AJ Limousine you can get from point A to point B without any fuss — all while you sit back comfortably with the knowledge that you will arrive to any event in style. Please visit http://www.AJLimousine.com to book your ride now.
